LIQUID OF LIFE (Fra) #5 (Fanzine)

INTERVIEWS WITH: DISGUST, DIABOLIC, DISGORGE, DAMNABLE, UNCREATION, INTENSE HAMMER RAGE, NATRON, FERMENTO, MARTIRE, OSSUARY INSANE, KRISIUN - 68 A4 Xeroxed pages written in English

So Liquid of Life made it to the 5th issue (and a sixth too) in the time I have released just a few pages in aeons. I already stated before that this is the kind of fanzines that make me wish I were bit less lazy and I could concentrate more on my interests (at least in a more constructive way). Liquid’s layout is simple, maybe even gross in use of some too many fonts, which really don’t have anything in common (and especially with a splatterish ‘zine like this), but the overall effect is amazing, as usual. It is really FULL, crammed with details and a myriad of logos scattered around, not an inch of space is wasted, not even with useless ads, just Death fucking Metal from top to bottom. The reviews occupy the bigest share of space, but this time, they’re divided in neat sections and broken by a lot of interviews (he probably finally gave up with doing only reviews), and it has its own very personal style, Tthis fanzine vomits enthusiasm and dedication to the scene like very few others (maybe no-others). If I have to be thoroughly critical, as one must be with the best ‘zines around, I find two weak spots: the pictures are 90 percent of the times, very very dark, and when you go under a xerox, you can imagine the result is but fuzzy black squares. Second, the reviews are a lot, but some of them just leave me wondering what kind of sound the band has... it’s like “this bands sounds like a, with a bit of b and some elements of c”, yes but what elements? I sometimes even wonder if the band plays Death or Goregrind or Black or whatever... although not all of them are done this way, some are, which is a pity, I’d prefere some less reviews with some more details but what the fuck, this is possibly the best issue of all 6, so just skip my rants and order one copy if you can find it. It’s possibly the best all-around-death zine around today. Nuff said.
